		<description>

Trustee, Ignite!
October 2011 - present

On the Board of Directors of Ignite! - an organisation who work with young people to reveal, develop and exercise their capacity for creativity and creative thinking. The above film captures four years of work undertaken through their programme Ignition.

Ignite! believes that the characteristics of creative thinkers can be identified and nurtured, and that young people’s innate capacity for invention and play, their curiosity and appetite for new learning experiences, and their delight in seeing and making connections should be developed both within schools and elsewhere.

The majority of young people now entering the education system will eventually take up jobs that haven’t been invented yet; and most of them will change jobs between 12 and 20 times in their working lives. For them to achieve their full potential in this rapidly changing environment, young people require new skills and attributes – resourcefulness, the ability to make connections, intuition, reflection and a preparedness to take risk.

Ignite! refer to these attributes as the characteristics of creativity: Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflection, Relationships, Risk-taking.

Associate Art Director &#38; Communications Consultant, April 2011 - present

A Very Good Company work with businesses, individuals and communities to turn good ideas into solutions that deliver value and impact. Their vision is to create a world where everyone can feel good, do good and live good.

Working as the company Art Director, I worked alongside Because Studio on a company brand refresh. Coordinating the brand messaging, the existing script logotype was refined and applied to a range of digital and print applications.

As a Communications Associate, I continue to work for A Very Good Company on a range of client and internal projects.

I + I + I = We
Throughout 2004-2006, during undergraduate study, I set out to explore the relationships between creativity, the individual, innovation and education. The result of this research was a First Class Honors awarded dissertation entitled How can individual innovation give sight to our creative future? which presented evidence of an education system teaching human beings out of creative thought; a society in need of innovative and creativity capacity for growth and personal well-being, and a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to social innovation. A philosophy evolved during the synthesis of research that continues to inform my thinking today.

Visual Language
The above visual statements are a selection of conceptual responses produced in response to the research and philosophical perspective developed. Two of the above visuals were exhibited as posters at Ringling College of Art and Design, Florida.

Poetic Equation
2i (9D) = (i)
Representing one individual,
(i) am a small detail (we) cannot live without.
‘i’ am independence, confidence
...and a sheer determination.
Not just a letter, but an experience of another place.
With a new perspective of the world,
‘i’ am a close encounter away from reality.
(i) am innovation as much as a risk.
(i) am a combination of all the ideas you have seen,
that have frustrated you enough to believe.
Looking creatively, i see the reality of who i am,
what (i) mean to you and what you mean to (i).
Do not dampen, be unique, don’t fit, stand out.
Solve the enigma of true innovation,
with all of our eyes.</description>
